Preconference sessions will be held on Friday, November 18, and will include: a session for members of the media, a scholarship orientation to help persons supported by scholarship navigate the program and create their personal agendas, and an orientation for moderators.
Conference plenary sessions for all registered participants will be held Saturday, Sunday, and Monday mornings on topics of overarching interest.
Each track will have one plenary session to cover an overarching topic area for that track, with no concurrent sessions held at the same time within that track.
Concurrent sessions will include oral presentations and panel presentations. Concurrent sessions are track-specific and abstract-driven. Each speaker will deliver a presentation followed by discussion, questions, and answers.
Special sessions include partner meetings and edutainment (sessions that include skits, videos, or other nontraditional methods for sharing information that will run concurrently with oral/panel sessions).
Held Saturday and Sunday at midday, poster presentations will be grouped by track; presenters have approximately 5 minutes each to give oral presentations on their posters in chaired sessions, followed by facilitated audience discussions.
Poster displays include a wide variety of topics by track. The posters will be displayed daily, and presenters will be available at their posters’ locations at midday on Saturday and Sunday to answer questions and provide further information on their study results.
Affinity sessions on Saturday and Sunday evening provide an opportunity for participants to find others with similar interests and issues. At the conference information desk, participants can identify topics and sign up for meeting rooms.
Skills-buildings sessions on Monday afternoon will cover all tracks and will include several cross-cutting issues and themes. Delegates will be able to participate in targeted sessions that will promote and enhance opportunities for knowledge transfer, skills development, and collaborative learning.
All plenary and concurrent sessions will have simultaneous interpretation of Spanish to English and English to Spanish.
